Look, today there is an activity for blind students with visual impairments, blindness or low vision. The activities with string or wool and cords, crafts and leftover cardboard or cardstock to develop with the blind. Let's learn how to develop the activity that helps the student, children and adolescents to learn about sports and balls with tactile skills in their hands. The activity serves to fill in the drawing in sports in painting or learning.
The drawings chosen to teach how to do sports on a cardboard page were these figures: the American football ball 🏈 which is brown and white. But since only white and pink wool is available, it is possible to do it too. ⛸️ I made the skate boot. White and pink. Don't forget that blind people who are blind from birth can't see anything. Those with low vision can see a certain percentage of their vision, but they can't discern what they see.
The scarcity and lack of material to prepare and teach blind children, adolescents and adults is gradually creating resources that educate and produce positive results in the learning of those with visual difficulties and that avoid financial expenses and that help professionals to teach without using the budget and remuneration they receive. It is good to do and educate students on a daily basis at home or at school with packaging that they use when buying products. It is not to collect paper in a landfill. Be very careful.
To do the activity or prepare the drawings that make the sports practice, the paper or cardboard must be cut into squares that measure twenty centimeters long and fifteen centimeters wide or the size that is available to do the tactile activity with string or wool. In the photo, the cardboard is being cut to the size that you also want to make. It is also used to color (paint 🖌️ with a brush or your finger). The outline on the line that covers the drawing.
The drawing of the sport to be drawn is important to decide which sports because there are many. And to draw you can use the ballpoint pen 🖊️ or pencil. The marker can also be used after drawing the sport in the photo with a pen 🖋️ skates and American football. The ball outlines the figure with the string 🧵 or wool as in the photo. Use school glue with all types in school activities and for children.
The school glue does not have toxic substances and wait for the wool or string to stick to the cardboard design. My option was with what I had at home. The cardboard cannot be folded because it prevents the blind or low vision student and the use of glasses from tracing the design on the wool or string that was glued. The cardboard on a smooth page without wrinkles or folds.
Once the activity is ready, be sure to use it for a long time and with many blind or visually impaired students. Create a version that they can paint in art activities to develop fine motor skills in the hands and for Physical Education so that the student understands the geometry of the materials used in the sport, the ball, the materials, and skates to practice the sport. Feeling through manual mapping with your hands what that ball or material is like in sports practice before playing or playing. Avoid fights. Do all the resources with cardboard when coloring. To color, paint 🖌️ also use school dye with water 💦 and help the painting to paint only the figure, filling in the outline of the line in the figure and the color of the ball, whether it is a basic and single color or several colors.
